This week in Robotics - The Paper Airplane Engineering and Design Challenge

This week the students will be creating a paper airplane using 1 sheet of standard printer paper and 12 inches of clear tape.  They will be documenting their work using a Prezi.com presentation.  Their prezi must include the following slides.

Slide 1 :  Title Slide (Student Name and The Airplane's Name)
Slide 2:  Planning Slide.  The students must identify 3 key items that they believe create the most successful plane.
Slide 3:  A minimum of 3 prototypes.  Each prototype must have a brief explanation of what they think will work well and one challenge the prototype will present.
Slide 4:  Their Design Process.  This slide will include the process for their design.
Slide 5:  Their Testing Phase.  This slide will include how their testing went, any changes/alterations to the design, and their best guess for their result.
Slide 6:  The Final Design

Their Challenge is to create a paper airplane that can be thrown and will land in a 4ft x 4ft landing box located 10 feet away from the launch site.  This isn't a challenge of speed or distance.  It is a challenge of control.  Their airplane can take any form as along as it is documented in the Prezi.  Good Luck.

Below are a few links to Paper Airplane Designs for your research.

You may save the pictures of your prototypes to your L: Drive and insert them into your Prezi.
